Jay-J Yarbrough-Jones

Major: Kinesiology

Tribe: Nez Perce

Hometown: Federal Way, WA

My name is Jay-J Yarbrough-Jones and I am a junior studying Kinesiology.  I am from Federal Way, WA, and am a Nez Perce descendant from the Murphy family, originally from Lapwai, Idaho.  I chose WSU because my dad was born and raised in Pullman which led to my immediate interest with the school.  After so many visits, it was hard to not feel at home with the Coug environment.  My overall goal is to play professional baseball, and currently I’m trying out for the Washington State team.

Three Fun Facts About Me:

  • I play multiple instruments (guitar, piano, and sax) and can sing (a little)
  • I used to be a mascot and a cheerleader for my high school.
  • I play in a father/son World Series tournament in Arizona every year.
