Way’! Hello! My name is Miranda Cleveland and I am a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes. I was born and raised in the small town of Okanogan, WA.  I am a senior studying Biology with a minor in Animal Science, my goal is to get into Veterinary School or become a Biologist for my Tribe. I chose to attend WSU after participating in a program called Future Cougars of Color. I got to tour campus and meet current students for two days, and after that I knew that Pullman was the place for me. I had WSU on my mind because it offered a great pre-vet program and was in state, but what sealed the deal for me was touring the campus and seeing the Pullman community.

At WSU I have found a great community, one of my favorite places is the Native Center; it is my home away from home. When not at the center I am out at the barn working with my horse, at home entertaining my dog “Gus” or working on my beadwork. I am a current member of AISES and in the past I have been involved in several other clubs.

Three Fun Facts About Me:

  1. I won a Horse in an essay contest
  2. I have helped raise over 5 million Chinook Salmon
  3. I served as the 2014 Okanogan County Fair Queen
