Hello! My name is Cherrise Reyes and I am a member of the Upper Skagit Tribe and a descendant of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Indian Reservation. I am a Senior studying Political Science, Pre-Law and Criminal Justice and will be graduating this fall!!  I was born here in Pullman, WA in the building that is now known as the Health & Wellness Center and I always enjoy telling others that I was born on campus! I chose to come to Pullman because I knew that I could not get the true college experience anywhere else and I knew that Wazzu would exceed my expectations of what a world class university has to offer. To this day, I have not been disappointed…not once.

I was also lucky enough to find a home here in the Native community and become involved in multiple organizations including: the Tribal Nation Building Leadership Program, the Native American Women’s Association, the Coalition for Women Students, Mitamitaga O Samoa, and the University’s Conduct Board. In addition to these activities, I had the privilege of being a member of the Native American Political Leadership Program (NAPLP) at George Washington University this past summer where I learned about campaigning and political management in the heart of politics and of our nation – Washington D.C.

Three Fun Facts About Me:

  • I have a black belt in kajukenbo
  • I'm a Harry Potter fan
  • I'm slightly obsessed with cheese
